Tartare sauce in fishfinger sandwich

RECIPE: FABULOUS FISHY FINGERS SANDWICH

with a tip from Jamie Oliver

Serves: Adjust depending how hungry you are!

A proper fish finger sandwich is a thing of beauty! We took our Fabulous Fishy Fingers, handmade with our secret recipe crumb and flaky chunks, and made an equally fabulous fish finger sandwich with our own tartare sauce, salad leaves and dill pickles. Served with chips! Sometimes the simple things in life really are the best.

Cook the fabulous fishy fingers according to the packet.

While they’re cooking, take thick slices of fresh baker’s bread or a soft roll and load with butter and tartare sauce (did you know we sell that too?!)

When the fish fingers are ready, pop them on the bread, top with iceberg lettuce and dill pickle slices (if you’re being fancy you could have some fresh dill too.)

Now, Jamie Oliver is famous for his fish finger butties and he says: “The most important bit is to put the other bit of bread on top and, using a little force, push down on your butty which, for some reason, seems to make it taste even better.”

Give it a try and let us know if you agree!

THE ICONIC BESTIVAL FISH FINGER SANDWICH

The iconic ‘Festival Fish Finger Sandwich’ was created for Camp Bestival on the beautiful Isle of Wight, where Catch was born in 2012.

The Fabulous Fishy Fingers were made entirely from the catch of the Yarmouth Fishermen’s Association (now the Needles Fishermen’s Co-op, a bona fide co-operative) .

Such was the success of the Fabulous Fishy Fingers that Catch began hand-making other unique fish delicacies for the retail and restaurant trade, including gourmet fishcakes, crab cakes and crab bisque, all proudly 100% supporting local and sustainable fishing.
